About:
Care Commons is our community aid and outreach arm of Joyful Resistance. Our mission is to bridge the gap in our community by supplying pantries and shelters with their most-needed items. Did you know that basic (and often expensive) hygiene items are NOT covered by SNAP or WIC, and often our neighbors must choose between food and hygiene?
Most urgent needs include new socks and underwear, diapers of all sizes, wipes, diaper cream, soap, 3-in-1 baby wash, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, shoes, and gas cards.
We are currently partnering with The Legacy Closet in Margate, Changing Lives in Boca Raton, and Deerfield Beach Community Cares. These amazing organizations serve the neediest among us, including the unhoused, veterans, families, foster children, and those needing a hand up and social support.
We need YOU! Tell your workplace, school, house of worship, book club, scout troop, sports team, student club, and neighborhood that you are collecting much needed items for your community, and when you have a bunch to donate, simply reach out to us at CareCrew@joyfulresistancesouthflorida.com and we’ll pick up and distribute!

Changing Lives is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting individuals experiencing homelessness through basic needs assistance, housing support, and pathways toward stability.

Deerfield Beach Community Cares is a resident-led nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the Deerfield Beach community through connection, collaboration, and inclusive local initiatives.
They support youth, families, and neighbors through programs, events, and partnerships that promote well-being and community resilience
The Legacy Closet is a nonprofit that provides free clothing, essential items, and support to individuals and families in need in Broward County.
Through community donations and volunteer efforts, they help restore dignity and meet basic needs with compassion and care.
