Angie Nixon is a member of the Florida House of Representatives serving District 13, representing the Jacksonville area. A lifelong community advocate, she has worked as a legislative aide, a labor organizer, and a leader within the Florida Public Service Union. Nixon is also known for her grassroots work in Jacksonville, including co‑founding the Melanin Market and opening Café Resistance, a community‑focused bookstore and coffee shop. She is currently a declared candidate in the 2026 U.S. Senate special election in Florida taking place on August 18th, 2026 .
